Master

Martial Arts have multiple levels of black belts. Most have 10 black belt rankings. 4th, 5th, and 6th degree black belts are Masters in their marital art.

After many, many years of martial arts study, Masters have incredible capabilities, and can do seemingly amazing things. Masters learn to spot the starting movements and tells of the less senior martial artists, due to the large number of practices and partners that they have trained with They appear to just know what the opponent is going to do before they do it, and can move to counter it, almost seamlessly. As the song goes 'they were fast as lightning - It was a little bit frightening'.

Most martial arts define the Master level as the lowest level that a person should be at before they open up their own martial arts school. Many persons have and do forgo this guideline, and start a martial arts school with only a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree black belt. This logically occurred much more in the past when there were a lot less high level black belts than in the present day.
