Reuse

We should always ask ourselves if a products we no longer want can be reused by someone else, or ourselves, perhaps in a different fashion, before we just throw it away.

Many people, for example, print out large numbers of emails and other computer and internet information at home or in the office. When these printouts are no longer needed, some people reuse these pieces of papers for other things, such as for to do lists, and grocery shopping lists, and the like. This will prevent additional pads and paper being used. When the to-do list is no longer needed, then the paper can be recycled.

Old clothing is another product that has reuse possibilities. If the clothing is still wearable, then it should be sold or given to a charitable organization such as the Goodwill. If the clothing is no longer wearable, then it can be used as rags for cleaning, dusting, and things like washing and waxing ones car. Why buy special rags when you already have something that will work just as well.

Items you have that are no longer useful to you, if there are still in a practical working condition, should be either donated to a charitable organization, given to someone who could use the items, sold at a garage sale or sold on EBay. The last two options have the advantage of causing these items to be reused by others, while you get some economic benefit from this.
