JD Law Degree
JD, Juris Doctorate, is the degree one receives when graduating from Law School. This is generally a 3 year degree after the Bachelor's.
Required for practicing law, often along with a state recognized bar exam, the JD can be a very challenging experience. It has been said that the primary knowledge that law school teaches are ways of thinking about various situations.
There can be a lot of power associated with practicing law. Many professional politicians have JD degrees, as can be seen in the biographies of US Senators and congressmen.
